Seattle Home Show and Candy Houses
This is the sixth day that HomeSavvi has been in production. We’ve been showing the HomeSavvi website to people at the Seattle Home Show, and we’ve been getting amazing responses back, both from homeowners and professionals alike. It’s awesome to know that there is a need in the community for this resource, and hopefully the website will be finalized, up and running in March.
I worked at the HomeSavvi booth, located at the Lighting Universe section, earlier in the week. It’s been great talking to the homeowners and professionals, as well as having a bit of fun on the side. Fun, you ask? Yes, fun. To satisfy homeowners’ growing hunger pains from the home show, we provided a bowl of candy for their appetite/waning energy needs. To go along with the “home theme”, Ryan and I had build a candy house made with Starbursts and Hershey kisses. People would actually walk by and say, “That’s the best booth ever!” after seeing the house of joy. After offering them a part of the Starburst house, we’d hand them a HomeSavvi card. Marketing, with a splash of childlike fun.
There’s an amazing lamp that’s behind us, that seems to be attracting a lot of people. It’s a bubble chandelier, that’s named “Ether”. It looks as though strands of bubbles have levitated in the air, with a stream of constant light coming from above. One woman, in the midst of strolling by, had taken a brief glance at the light, stopped and gasped, “That is a GORGEOUS light!”. According to one of the Lighting Universe ladies, the light was featured in the earthquake scene in Ocean’s 13.
I’ll blog more about the Seattle Home Show, in detail (and aside from candy houses) later.
